Printable Daily Chore Charts

Share the fun!

Summer is officially over! If your kids haven’t started school yet, you will be starting this week. We had big plans to finish off our summer with a day at the pool this Labor Day weekend, but even the weather has finally turned to fall.

We gave up our day at the pool for the park and a barbecue. I know we will have some warm (and probably hot days) still in the coming weeks, but we are giving up the lazy days of summer for structure and school. So this week I am also implementing new daily chore charts for my kids and thought I’d share them with you too.

We had a lot of success with our summer chore charts. It’s funny how excited the kids were to check off the little boxes and earn some screen time. We used the charts most days, but then some days we just enjoyed the laziness of summer.

Now that school has started and the kids have more responsibilities, we need to make sure to keep them on a schedule so we needed new daily chore charts. I have learned that if is isn’t written down, it doesn’t happen around here.

Since we loved the system we were using for summer, I just adjusted it a little to work for the school year, changed the design to make it a little more rustic and less summery, and presto! We are ready to be organized and on top of it this school year. Well, at least a little more organized and on top of it.

One of the things that worked really well to keep the house looking somewhat tidy even though there were 3 kids terrorizing it all summer, was to do one chore every day. We are continuing this through the school year, but instead of putting a specific chore on the chart for Saturday (during the summer it was our yard work day), I decided to leave it blank.

If there are specific things we are working on one week I can always write it in, but since the kids will be working hard to keep up with their school work I like to leave Saturdays as a free day. Any chores that are not finished during the week can get caught up on Saturday, but if they keep their chores done during the week, they can just play or be lazy or both!

Now that the chore charts are all ready to go, I think I need to get our command center into place. I’ve had this idea for a hallway command center all summer, but I’ve been busy working on other projects around the house.

Since we need to stay organized with all the extra stuff going on, and all those papers that come home from school, I am going to get our command center up and running! Stay tuned for more family organization ideas this month.

And since we have a boy and a girl, I decided to make two different colors. You can pick the ones that work best for your house or your kids. If you want to download your own free printable daily chore charts, they are available to all my email subscribers in my Library of Free Downloads

Not subscribed, you can sign up today to gain access to the library. Inside you can download these chore charts and much more!

Now it’s time to enjoy our last day of the long weekend before we have to get really serious with school. Have a wonderful day!

Hello Meghan, you might need to check in your promotions or junk folder. Sometimes the emails go there to begin with. Let me know if you cannot find it and I can help further.

Hi Kati! I just found your site when I was looking for Family Command Center ideas. I LOVE these Chore Chart pintables and signed up for your email list so that I could get them. However, I was wondering, would you be willing to share an editable version? I'd love to be able to change up some of the things that my kids need to do each morning and evening. Or are they already editable and I totally missed how to do that??

Loving your blog, so far! Thanks!

Hello Stephanie! I am so glad you found me. I have not thought about doing an editable version of our chore charts, but I can put it on my to-do list. It may be a month or so before I can get to it. In the meantime, you might be able to open the current file in a photo editing program and cover the items you do not want with a white box, then put text over that for the new chore.
